Terms of Use
Last updated: 16 July 2026
These terms of use explain the rules for using the Merchant Advice website and the basis on which we provide our introduction and support services. By using our website, or by submitting an enquiry or application to us, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use our site.
1. Who we are
Merchant Advice is a division of OCRO LTD (company number 12774706), whose registered office is 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Merchant Advice, and "you" means the person or business using our website or services. You can contact us at info@merchantadvice.co.uk or on 0204 525 9875.
2. Our service and our role
- We are an independent introducer and broker. We help businesses find and apply for merchant accounts, payment gateways, funding and related services by introducing them to suitable third-party providers, lenders and banks ("providers").
- We are not a payment provider, lender or bank. We do not process payments, provide funding, or operate the products and services you ultimately take.
- We are not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). The information and guidance we provide is general and commercial in nature. It is not regulated financial advice, nor legal, tax or accounting advice, and you should take your own professional advice where appropriate.
- Any product or service you take is provided by the relevant provider under a separate contract between you and that provider, on their terms.
3. No guarantee of approval or outcome
We help you identify suitable providers and present your business well, but we do not control provider decisions.
- We do not guarantee that any provider will approve your application, offer particular pricing or terms, meet any timescale, or continue to provide a service.
- Any indication we give of likely fit, pricing or timescales is an estimate based on our experience, not a promise.
- Underwriting and approval decisions are made by the provider, applying their own criteria.
4. Using our website
- You may use our site for lawful purposes and to enquire about our services.
- You must not misuse our site - for example by introducing malicious code, attempting to gain unauthorised access, scraping or harvesting data, or using it in any way that is unlawful, fraudulent or harmful.
- You must not reproduce, republish or exploit our site or its content for a commercial purpose without our permission.
5. Information you give us
- When you enquire or apply, you confirm that the information you give us is accurate, complete and up to date, and that you are authorised to provide it - including information about your business and its owners.
- We and the providers we introduce you to rely on this information. Providing false or misleading information may result in an application being declined.
- How we handle your personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy.
6. Introductions and third parties
- Where you ask us to, we pass your details and documents to suitable providers so they can quote for, assess and provide the product or service you want.
- We are not responsible for the products, services, pricing, decisions, acts or omissions of any provider. Your relationship for that product or service is directly with the provider.
- We may receive a commission or fee from a provider when you take a product or service through an introduction from us, and we may pay a commission to third parties who introduce business to us. We handle these arrangements in line with our anti-bribery and anti-corruption commitments.
7. Intellectual property
The content on our site - including text, graphics, logos and design - is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by law. You may view and print content for your own business use. You may not copy, republish, distribute or otherwise exploit it commercially without our written permission.
8. Links to other websites
Our site may link to third-party websites, including those of providers. We provide these links for convenience only. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, products or practices of those sites, and a link does not imply our endorsement.
9. Availability of the site
We aim to keep the site available, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free. We may suspend, withdraw or change all or part of the site without notice.
10. Our liability
- Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so - including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
- We provide our website and our introduction service with reasonable care and skill.
- To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for: any decision made by a provider; any product or service provided by a provider; any loss of profit, revenue, business or goodwill; any indirect or consequential loss; or any loss arising from information you gave us being inaccurate or incomplete.
- Our services are provided to businesses, in the course of their business.
11. Complaints
If you are unhappy with our service, our Complaints Handling Policy explains how to raise a complaint with us and how we will handle it.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page, with the "last updated" date shown above, applies to your use of the site. Please check back periodically.
13. Governing law
These terms, and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them, are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
